DESCRIPTION

A call for awareness for Sudan, where Favela Street was able to make a small impact until the civil war broke out in 2023, severely affecting the safety of people (understatement).

As a tribute to the strength of Sudan and its people, and their continued fight for freedom and peace, Blood In Blood Out designed a football jersey in the colors of Sudan’s independence in 1956: blue, yellow, and green. The pattern on the shirt portrays masses of protesting people—a reflection of their relentless fight for freedom, justice, and peace in a divided nation.

In 2022, Rocky met documentary photographer Faiz Abubakr, who won the World Press Photo Africa Award that same year. His winning photograph captured a young woman throwing a tear gas canister back at soldiers—a powerful image underscoring the bravery of Sudanese women during the revolution. Abubakr expressed his mission eloquently: “I wanted to show the world how Sudanese women take bold action and highlight their pivotal role in the revolution.”

Proceeds from the jersey will go to Faiz Abubakr, enabling him to continue his work and share Sudan’s stories with the world. This design is an ode to the strength of women, to Sudan, and to the enduring hope for a brighter future.
